MENTORING PROGRAMS
Finding the right mentor can open all those doors that tend to remain closed to people with few connections.
 

Hispanics Inspiring Students’ Performance and Achievement - Hispa’s puts professional role models in contact with schools and community organizations. Reach out to them to bring them to your school or to join as a role model yourself!

Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement –It offers a mentoring program for high school and college students. In addition they have a high school internship program that identifies top performers for exposure to the corporate world.

International Mentoring Network Organization -A virtual mentoring organization that invites college students to interview people they admire and then post the audio file on the website.

Rising Farmworker Dream Fund -A nonprofit organization that aims to leverage the power and resources of the business sector to enable positive social change within the American migrant farm working community. They offer scholarships to students with a farm working background and who are looking to apply to the top 30 MBA programs. They also offer one-on-one mentorship for pre-MBA.

Sponsors of Educational Opportunity -An organization that provides support in grades 9-16 by preparing students of color for competitive college admissions and graduation. Their SEO Career Program recruits, selects and trains college students of color for summer internships that lead to full time jobs with investment banks, corporate law firms and other leading global companies. They have several other programs you should look into.

The Partnership to Educate & Advance Kids (PEAK Chicago) -This Chicago based program offers "at-risk" students an alternative to the public school system and allows them to attend Holy Trinity High School -Each student is paired up with a sponsor/mentor that guides them through all 4 years of high school and the college application process. Peak caters to average and below average students and has a 90% graduation rate!
