Roszy,
Do your parents have an ITIN number? If they file taxes, they should have been assigned an ITIN number. In this case, you would input "999-99-9999" as their SSN.
I hope this helps. Please feel free to message us back.
Good luck!

Dear Mizari,
I am sorry to hear about the situation with this particular university. If this university is considered a public or state university, then they are not required to offer you financial aid due to your status. Please feel free to email me directly at jazmin@latinosincolleg

Getting money and financial aid for college
Hi Dominique,
I commend you for helping your friend through this process. Unfortunately, your friend is not able to apply for FAFSA since he is an undocumented student. However, there are twelve states that offer in-state tuition for undocumented students. They are the following: California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and

Applying to the most selective universities
Dear Mirna,
I would encourage you to check with your state's laws regarding DACA students and financial aid. Unfortunately, Viriginia does not seem to offer state aid or in-state tuition to DACA students. While you are allowed to work, the state continues to treat DACA students as undocumented without financial aid eligibility. Please look into the following:

Dear Juan,
Yes, you are still able to fill out the application for FAFSA. You may need to submit a paper (hard-copy) of FAFSA in case you run into issues completing it online.
Feel free to contact us if you need further assistance.

Mmejia7,
We apologize for the late response. Since your parents have been filing taxes, you should be inputting "999-99-9999" instead of 0's. Please let us know what your current situation is!

Saludos Cassandra,

Getting money and financial aid for college
Dear Joel,
We apologize for the delay in answering your question.
When undocumented parents file taxes, students should be inputting 9's instead of zeros under the Social Security box (i.e. 999-99-9999).
You should try to submit a copy of the parents ITN and a letter explaining that the social security on the w2 forms is invalid and therefore parents filed taxes with the ITN.

Saludos Horte,

Applying to the most selective universities
Dear Junior,
Have you explained to the school that your parents do not have social security number because they are not U.S. citizens? You may want to explain to them. They cannot deny you financial aid. Since they already have your parent's tax forms, that is sufficient.
Can you please follow up with us to let us know if there were any issues?

Hello Alex,
Since you are a resident of Florida, the state should not force you to pay out of state tuition.
We have forwarded your question to immigration lawyer, Elsie C. Vasquez in case there is additional information you should consider. Thank you for your patience!

Hello Jose,
Private schools do not receive federal funds, therefore, they are able to use their money as they see fit. There is higher probability that they would be willing to offer scholarships or funding to undocumented students.
I would recommend that you apply to the law schools that you are interested regardles of whether they are public or private. Check to see what scholarships or

Ideally, it would be best for you take on any available internship, especially if it aligns with your major. However, the reality is that many students need to work in order to pay for school. Dear Oscar,
It may be better to go to an actual 4-year college since many scholarships are awarded to students who attend a college or university.
If you wish to continue with this center of employment, you may need to ask them if they have a payment plan that will allow you to work and pay as you go.

Dear Eddy,
If a parent does not have a social security number, place 000-00-0000.
If a parent has a federal identification number, place 999-99-9999.
FAFSA has also suggested the following: If your parent does not have a Social Security number (SSN), they must enter 000.00.0000 on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If they also filed taxes, select that they filed a For

Getting money and financial aid for college
Maricela,

If so, you will need to read the following directions given by FAFSA to US Citizen students with undocumented parents:
