Stage Management Scholarships

Hello,

I am a Senior student from Costa Rica. I am very interested in going to the US and study Stage Management under the Theater Department in schools near California or Florida. Since last year I've been searching for scholarships and talked with some schools, but most of them deny the founds for international students or say that there is not financial aid available for us. I have the best academic records on my high school.

What percentage of Latin students may receive scholarships for a undergraduate application? Which websites offer assistance of guidance on how to get this help? Are there any federal institutions that may cover up to $20.000 of the $30.000 or $40.0000 living costs inside the US?

Thanks!

Hola Joe,
I'm happy to hear you're so committed to a specific career. Unfortunately, it's true that the funds available to international students are smaller than those available for American citizens and residents.

You could reach out to organizations that offer internships in Stage Management and ask them if they can recommend any particular scholarship or companies that offer funds to students of this specialty. Again, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be a specialty that many corporations would be funding. More commonly, they have scholarships for technology, engineering, science, math, etc. But don't give up and try to extend your network, so you can consult with people in the industry.
