What happens if student misses application deadline?

I'd like to know what my son must do. He graduated in May from high school but didn't get into college yet. Does this mean he missed the deadline? What does he have to do now to start school in Spring or Fall? I appreciate any help on this matter.

I would suggest that he begin making a list of colleges he is interested and begin looking at the deadlines. To apply for the fall 2012 semester, he will need to apply soon since usually the last round deadline is in February. Not all colleges allow freshmen to apply for the spring semester, however, that depends on the college.

All colleges have information and requirements on their website, usually under a category titled Admissions or Undergraduate Admissions.
