A wonderful resource where you can find grants for specific groups such as women, minorities, nursing students along with a clear explanation of the concept of grants.
College-Scholarships - Offers a list of scholarships sites for college students in traditional schools and studying online.
Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund
–It provides grants to students actively working for peace and justice. These need-based scholarships are awarded to those able to do academic work at the university level and who are part of the progressive movement on campus and in the community.

HENAAC scholarships program
-HENAAC™, a non-profit organization promotes careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. For the first time in their ten year history, the HENAAC Scholars Program awarded educational grants to over 100 stellar STEM students! HENNAC hopes to do the same in the following years and have a goal of providing over $200,000 in scholarships. Apply!
Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF)
–It identifies, inspires, promotes and prepares Latino role models through national leadership, cultural, educational
and workforce programs. They offer scholarships and a program called LOFT (Latinos on Fast Track) that can help direct
you to great paid internships and job opportunities.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic organization that distributes the largest amount of money in scholarships for Latinos. They hold wonderful
workshops to help students and families understand how to apply for college and how to get financial aid and scholarships.

L. A. Cash for College - A campaign composed of annual events to inform and encourage students about college opportunity.
Latino College Dollars -TA website designed to provide a scholarship directory for Latino Students, compiled by the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute.
MALDEF Law School Scholarship program
- Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund’s (MALDEF) Law School Scholarship Program awards scholarships of varying amounts to several students each year based on their commitment to serve the Latino community through law, their past achievement and potential for achievement, and their financial need.
Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund -The offers scholarships for law students but most importantly, in their website you will find a list of scholarships available to students regardless of their immigration status.
Network of Latino Credit Unions and Professionals -In their website you will find a number of credit union members based in various areas of the country. Contact the one near you to find out about student loans.
Petersons -This is a very comprehensive resource for you to look for scholarships and financial aid, to get help with your essays and test preparation.
Progress Financial -It's a company based in California that lends money to Latinos with limited or no credit history.
Quest Bridge –A non-profit organization that links bright, motivated low-income students with educational and scholarship opportunities at some of the nation’s best colleges. QuestBridge is the provider of the National College Match Program and College Prep Scholarships.
Rising Farmworker Dream Fund-A nonprofit organization that aims to leverage the power and resources of the business sector to enable positive social change within the American migrant farm working community. They offer scholarships to students with a farm working background and who are looking to apply to the top 30 MBA programs. They also offer one-on-one mentorship for pre-MBA.
Salvadoran American Leadership and Education Fund (SALEF)
-SALEF's "Fulfilling Our Dreams Scholarship" Fund is making higher education a reality for Central American and Latino students, including AB 540 students, with approximately 400 scholarships provided since 1998. SALEF's "Fulfilling Our Dreams Scholarship" Fund offers financial assistance and support to undergraduate, graduate and professional students, often making the difference in whether a student can attend college or not. SALEF offers three different scholarships: Health Career Scholarship, Two Nineteen Scholarship, and Father Rutilio Grande Scholarship. Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY)
-The SAMMY 2011 Award Program recognizes outstanding scholar athletes in grade 12 from high schools throughout the contiguous United States. An athlete from high school could be one of the 25 winners who will each receive the following: A $7,500 college scholarship from the Milk Processor Education Program, an invitation for winners, parents and/or guardians to attend a SAMMY 2011 awards weekend scheduled for June 2011, an opportunity to be pictured in a special congratulatory Milk Mustache ad in a June 2011 edition of USA TODAY and other national publications.

-This amazing scholarship/mentor program based out of Florida has helped low-income children flourish in crime
ridden communities, graduate from high school and attend college! Each student in the program receives a
college tuition scholarship, a mentor who provides support on a weekly basis, a case manager and career counseling.

The Center for Education Solution Resources
-The A. Patrick Charnon Memorial Scholarship helps students afford high quality undergraduate education in their chosen fields of study. Each scholarship will be for $1,500 per academic year, prorated and awarded at the beginning of each academic term (for example, semester or quarter). Recipients may re-apply each year for up to four years, provided they continue to meet the requirements of the award.
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities-A non-profit organization that offers scholarships, helps students find internships and study-abroad opportunities. It also offers great opportunities to network at their annual conference and various events.
The Hispanic College Fund
-Is one of the organizations that manages many different scholarships for Hispanics. One of them is The SallieMae Fund's "First in My Family" scholarship for full time undergraduate students enrolled in approved, accredited institutions. More about scholarships in Chapter 5.
